I am so unbelievably saddened to hear about the death of your wonderful son. I was his English professor at Nassau Community college and one of my former students, another Lynbrook resident, told me about Tom's passing a few days ago. I'm so sorry to have missed his services, but I wanted to extend my sincerest condolences to your family. Tom was an absolute joy in class--always present, always participating, and always kind. He was smart, a good writer, and a student I will never forget. He wrote about his illness and his town--two things that clearly shaped his life. I will always remember that even though he was very sick at the end of the semester, he managed to finish his work. I am so very sorry for the loss of your son, but I have to say that he clearly had an impact on everyone he met in the short amount of time he was on this earth. I wish your family all my best and every ounce of healing the world has to offer.

Thomas will be missed greatly as we loved spending family vacations with him and the rest of the family. Putt putt golf, blizzards from Dairy Queen, and Lady Gaga were the things that we enjoyed when we were with Tom. I remember how proud we were when we saw Tom and his class perform at Downtown Disney. We couldn't wait to hug him and tell him how great he was. We love you Thomas. You will always be in our hearts.

My heart aches for Laura, James and the Donaldson family to lose recently in death your precious loved one Thomas after just 19 way too short years, way too young, way too soon. Words are so limited that can give comfort, so I would like to share with you a beautiful scripture where Jesus makes us a wonderful promise at John 5:28, which says: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..." . Our heavenly father promises us to do away with man's worst enemy, death at Rev. 21: 4 which reads: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: "And no resident will say "I am sick," ever again. For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises including the resurrection. John 6:40 Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: "is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago." Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will live......And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it." Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. I offer my sincere condolences to the family.
