I'm very sorry for your loss. I go all the way back to Cambria Heights with my cousin, Kathy. I will always remember her warm and cheerful personality, although I admit I try to forget that she was a better basketball player than I was. Rest in peace, Kathy, the angels are truly lucky to have you.

To Dianna & Willy and the Grosso- Hank Family,
We are always at a loss for words when it comes to the death of a loved one, and so I am guilty of this now.
Kathy and I were colleagues for over 40 years and despite some of our differences of opinion, I loved her like a sister. I will always remember how proud she was of you, Dianna and you, Willy. In the last few years, she worried about leaving you both, but she knew that she and John had done a terrific job in raising you, and so she was confident that you both would be okay. Know that I will always be available to you both if you should need anything, anything at all.
I am a phone call or email away. 347-743-7730. I am so sorry my friend is gone, but God knows best, and she is no longer suffering.
You all have my deepest condolences on the loss of your mom, our beloved Kathy. She will be missed terribly, by so many of us at Queens College.
May God continue to bless you both.

I know Kathy for many years. Kathy was a beautiful person in many ways. She would also let you know what she was thinking - always with the student's best interest in mind.
I offer my condolences to the family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Dianna and Will, I received word of your mom's passing via the Queens College email, where I am now teaching. Please accept my sincere condolences. You are both wonderful young adults and I am sure your parents were very proud of you in life and will shine their love upon you in their forever-after.
The Queens College email stated you as mom's 'young adult' children; but, regarding the loss of a parent, one is always a 'child'. The term adult, young adult, etc has no real meaning. It is a tremendous loss, no matter what the age.
Again, please accept my deepest sympathies. I am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Kathy, I met Nancy, your mom, in 1975 and you shortly thereafter. Our sense of humor was one of the same, dry and sarcastic. We hit it off from that day forward, while you worked at Queensborough and when you left us for Queens. You hold a special place in my heart as well as the hearts of those you have encountered over the years.
May the light from the eternal flame guide you on your journey home. It is a beacon of love for you that will forever glow, just like your smile.

Kathy always told her children they could be whoever they wanted to be. She was a person you could really depend on and was constantly supporting of her children no matter if they wanted to climb the tallest mountain or build the biggest block tower. She was their rock and that is one lady who will be missed by not only her children, but everyone. When they were growing up she made sure they were always taken care of. She would sacrifice her own happiness for theirs.
When they were younger they didn’t understand that, but she was just that type of giving person. As they grew up they began to realize that she was one of the good ones. She always said you had to be nice to everyone even if they weren’t nice to you, because you didn’t know what might be going on in their lives. She never spoke badly of others. She cared more for everyone else than she did for herself.
You can never get as much time with the ones you love as you think you are owed. We didn't know Kathy's time with us was to be so short, but we still enjoyed every second with her. She was just as sweet, supportive, and full of joy as always right up to the end. She was a light in my life as I am sure she was a light in all of yours. She would give anyone the shirt off her back and go out of her way to help a friend in need. She would always be there for her friends and family.
There are so many memories with Kathy that come to mind so it would be next to impossible for me to pick a favorite. We were lucky to have such a great cousin, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and even luckier that we were able to spend so much time with her during her life.
Kathy is with us today in our hearts. Words can't express how much she meant to me and my family. I know she is watching us hand in hand with her beloved John and is with us in spirit. Let us remember her as the carefree and loving person she was and celebrate the life of a great woman as we honor her memory today and always.

My deepest sympathy to your family. Kathy was a very special person and everyone who knew her was blessed. She sent me a note last year saying she enjoyed the pork buns I shared with her at previous meetings. Hope she has all the pork buns she wants in heaven! Kathy will live on in our hearts!

To the Grosso-Hank family,
My deepest condolences from the bottom of my heart for your loss. Kathy was an integral part of the CUNY financial aid community, and provided many years of guidance to me personally. We worked as colleagues since 1998 and I never doubted her good intentions for the good of the students and her knowledge and expertise in the area. She will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace and may her kids and family find strength in these times.

I had the privilege of working with KG in the QC Financial Aid Office from 1986-89. We had a great softball team in those years and had some exciting games against the Registrar's Office. We also had a fondness for those Mets in common. I always enjoyed Kathy's humor and will always remember her.

I was privileged to know Kathy from the time I started @ Queens College in late 2007. I was in Bursar, as I am now, and Kathy was with Financial Aid. We have a very good working relationship, and went to many meetings in the city together. I felt that I could drop in her office anytime, to discuss work, or just to chat. It's been a while since she worked here, but I do miss her, and we are all the worse off now because we know she has passed. We will all miss her tremendously.
Rest in peace, dear friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy was one of the nicest people to me and saw something in me I didn't see in myself. She always encouraged me. My fondest memory of her was at a Financial Aid Conference and we went to Disney World. She was so much fun to be with and even went on roller coasters with me! I love her and will forever miss her! It was an honor to know her and call her my friend.
