I met Eddie in 2001 when I was promoted to Captain and was assigned to GRVC. He was a rookie Captains best friend. He was genuine and he extended himself to everyone. After a year in GRVC I was assigned to the 3 to 11 tour as the intake Captain. In that position I covered the intake, clinic and General office. When I arrived to work I always knew that that clinic was cleared of all inmates and if there was 1 inmate in the intake clinic pen it was because of a Doctor or late incident on the 7x3 tour. He took pride in his job and always made sure that he didn't leave his work for me to finish. A Bag as we called it in Corrections. I always came to work not knowing what was going to happen on the 3x11 tour but I knew I didn't have to worry about the clinic when arriving to work. He was a special man that would calm us down when we were about to loose it at work. Yes we had days like that but he was our protector at GRVC. He will be missed by many! Hopefully when I arrive in heaven it will be 3pm because that was always the best time of day for me! When I told Eddie to get home safe to his family! ❤️

I knew Ed since high school....when i went to work at the department of correcioretions,,,,Eddie,,helped me along,,,,,,i worked for Captain Madruga in the GRVC kitchen and Clinic for over six years,,,when i got promoted we worked together....i'm certain that he added alot of levity and laughs while having to work in these areas. Whenever someone passes,,all of a sudden everyone says how close they were and what a nice gentle person they were,,,,In Eddie's case this was all true...you will be sorely missed my friend,,,,,Captn.
