William Favichia, 94, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at home in Lynbrook NY.

Devoted husband of Dorothy for 66 years Loving father of Frank Favichia and wife Olga, and William Favichia Jr .Cherished grandfather of Michael, Michelle, Cheryl, Michael and Gwyneth. Adored great grandfather of Michael and Ella Victoria.

William was born in Jamaica, New York, settled and raised his family in Lynbrook, New York.

William honorably served in the 121st Gray Bonnet Division in the US Army in WWII on the front lines of 4 of the 5 European campaigns. William worked for the Long Island Railroad for 37 years as a mechanic-foreman in the rail yards.

William was a man of honor, who dedicated his entire life to his family and his Roman Catholic faith. William's character was the definition of the Great Generation. He was a true New Yorker and Long Islander.

Family will receive friends Friday 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm at the Perry Funeral Home Inc. 118 Union Ave., Lynbrook, NY 11563 (516-593-1111).
