PERRY-George L., 87, of East Rockaway, NY on September 11, 2017. Beloved husband of 60 years to Sally. Devoted father of Patricia Byrne, Dr. Laura J. Perry (Dr. Robert Sheiman) and Carolyn M. Perry. Loving grandfather of Elizabeth Byrne-Scordato (Nick), Kelsey Byrne, Johnathan, Matthew and Robert Sheiman. Cherished great grandfather of Leo and Emilia Scordato. Former East Rockaway Village Trustee, Past Chief East Rockaway Fire Department, Past President East Rockaway Kiwanis Club, Member of St. Mary's Council #2228 Knights of Columbus in Lynbrook. Proud US Army veteran of the Korean War and life member of the American Legion Post #958 in East Rockaway and life member of VFW post #3350 in East Rockaway. George was a lifelong funeral director and proprietor of Perry Funeral Home Inc. in Lynbrook. Reposing Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Perry Funeral Home Inc. 118 Union Avenue Lynbrook. Firematic services Friday 8 PM. Funeral Mass Saturday 9:30 AM at St. Raymond's RC Church in East Rockaway. Interment in Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Childrens Reasearch Hospital.
