Cousin Reggie will be well remembered by the Nelson family/ the Nelson Girls. He was our big cousin from Mom's side. He'll be remembered as a loving and caring son to his mother, a considerate godson to his godmother, an understanding and forgiving landlord to his tenants, a patient and well respected teacher to his students, and a generous and happy person to and with his relatives and friends.
During his walk here on earth, he came into contact with and touched many lives. His smile and infectious laughter, his very presence, will be greatly missed by us but the many wonderful memories will live on in our hearts and minds.
May his soul Rest In Peace and Rise In Glory.

I remember when we would visit aunt Ria and Reggie ...two young country girls from Good Hope so excited to visit. But I have to be honest at the time we were more excited about visiting Georgetown than seeing our cousin :). Aunt Ria would have to drag him in the room to say good afternoon..that hello would last all of 3 seconds. He would then hide from us the whole visit - he was so shy - don't know where but he would be gone. We would see him again when it's time to leave.. another 3 seconds. I am sure he was just happy to get his room back and have those country girls leave him alone.
I will miss the vacation photos popping up randomly in the middle of the day while I am at work...vacation moments from Puerto Rico, Aruba or riding (trying) those poor donkeys in Mexico.
I also loved that he had all those old photos that he would send.
Will miss you so much!!

Uncle Reggie came into our family in the '80s, my father's friend from Durban Street. A very warm, friendly, kind-hearted and approachable gentleman, the qualities of a good teacher which he was in Guyana at St Mary's Community High School. I was preparing for SSEE in 89 and that's how I came to know him much better. He opened up his home to me for free ( I place emphasis because this was big business and still is) tutoring on the weekends and there I also met his mother who I would visit ever so often until she passed(peace be with her). Looking back I think he got his qualities from his mom even though I may be a bit unfair since I never met his dad.
Uncle Reggie riding around on his bicycle stopping by to visit us, always pleasant and positive with an infectious laugh you love to hear who would eventually migrate but never lost contact. We look forward to seeing him especially around Easter( pic is with my dad Eater of 96), he loved it here at that time of year, outdoors and travelling. My dad passed(peace be with him) in 2010 and uncle Reggie and I was in contact especially through Facebook. He told me he was going to come this year to visit and I was very much looking forward to that. But man plans but God directs.
Today he has gone to the great beyond reunited with his family and I'm sure catching up with dad while he leaves us here with pleasant memories of a man who lived in my opinion a very humble but fulfilling life.
Rest in Peace Uncle Reggie, Gone but will never be forgotten.
