My sympathy to the family for your loss. May each special memory comfort the family. The Bible gives comfort because it clearly explains, not only the origin of life, but also the meaning of it, the reason why we die, the condition of those who have died, and the resurrection promise. (Acts 24:15) Jesus Christ said at John 5:28,29: "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."
God always fulfills his promises. (Numbers 23:19)
