Meehan- Peter J., 72, of Lynbrook passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of 47 years to Margie. Cherished father of Peter Jr., Brian (Liz) and Kevin (Tara). Devoted grandfather of Declan, Lila and Molly. Dear brother of Susan Resua, Peggy Gallagher and the late John. Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews and friend to all who met him. He shared his life with a song in his heart. Proud Army Veteran. Dedicated Nassau County Police Officer of 31 years. Proud past President of NCPD Holy Name Society and member of many fraternal organizations. Family will receive friends Sunday, 7-9 PM and Monday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Perry Funeral Home, Inc., 118 Union Avenue, Lynbrook, NY, www.Perryfh.com, Funeral Mass Tuesday, 10 AM at St Joseph's RC Church, Hewlett, NY. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Hospice of New York.
